Music in Art (ISSN 1522-7464) is a multidisciplinary journal devoted to the study of visual sources of music from antiquity to the present. It fosters communication between historians of art, dance, and theater, musicologists, and ethnomusicologists engaged in the research of pictorial representations of musical instruments and their decorations, occasions for music-making and dance, the history of performance practice, and the relationship between music and visual art in the 20th century.

Music in Art is the continuation of the RIdIM/RCMI Newsletter, volume I (1975) to XXII (1997). Annual subscription rates for current issue are $155 for institutions and $55 for individuals.
